Duplicate Layers Appeared
Recover safely when the same generated layer shows more than once.
On this page
If the same generated design appears more than once in the Layers panel, that is not expected behaviour. Reopening the Layers panel or adjusting controls should never create additional copies of a layer.
Recovery steps
Step 1: Stop making additional edits for a moment
Further changes on top of duplicated layers make it harder to tell the original from the copy.
Step 2: Save or capture the current design state
If saving is available, save now so you have a state to return to. A screenshot of the Layers panel also helps.
Step 3: Refresh the Studio once
A single refresh re-reads the design. Do not refresh repeatedly.
Step 4: Reopen the Layers panel
Check whether the duplicate is still listed after the refresh.
Step 5: Remove only confirmed duplicate layers
Select each duplicate, verify it matches an existing layer, then remove it.
Step 6: Avoid repeatedly clicking Generate or Add Layer
Repeated clicks while a generation is in progress can add elements you did not intend.
Step 7: Contact support if the duplicate returns
Include roughly when it happened and what you did immediately before.

Why this can happen
- A generation was triggered more than once before the first result was applied.
- A design was restored or reopened while a generation result was still being applied.
- Older sessions could re-apply a layer when a design was reopened. See the related changelog entry below.
